The UK Government brought in a ban on all residential property evictions earlier this year due to the strain coronavirus and lockdown placed on people who were furloughed from their work.
The ban was due for the last three months but the Government extended it until August.
Housing Minister, Robert Jenrick stated that “no one will be evicted from their home this summer due to coronavirus”.
Now the Government has announced the lifting of the ban from 24th August.
Currently the UK has 8 million renters of which 4.5 million are private landlords.
This announcement will have a major impact in London as it will now give back landlords the power to evict bad tenants.
Inevitably this will help push the property market further forward.
